Restoring Trust, Rebuilding the Future: A Democratic Strategy from the Ground Up

Black and Latino communities are drifting from the Democratic Party. We must urgently reconnect through an authentic, grassroots strategy that rebuilds trust, reengages disillusioned voters, and reclaims ground in key battleground states.

Democracy from the Roots: Community Leadership for a New Political Direction

This is not just about votes—it’s about real representation. Black, immigrants, women, and LGBTQ+ leaders must co-create the strategy. Only then can we build a participatory, authentic, and lasting democracy from the ground up.

The New America Coalition stands as a bold and united force dedicated to creating a more just, inclusive, and forward-thinking United States. Rooted in the belief that transformative change cannot be delayed, the coalition brings together diverse communities, leaders, and visionaries to address the challenges of today while shaping the opportunities of tomorrow. By embracing innovation, collaboration, and the power of collective action, the coalition aims to break down systemic barriers and amplify the voices of those often left unheard in political, social, and economic conversations.

Despite slowing inflation, Americans across income brackets continue to feel economic strain due to elevated prices for housing, food, gas, and healthcare.

Rent and mortgage costs remain out of reach for many working-class families and young voters.

Suburban swing voters and seniors are especially sensitive to grocery, utility, and prescription drug prices.

New America Coalition’s Strategy:

Promote a bold “Cost of Living Relief Agenda” that includes affordable housing, caps on prescription drugs, grocery tax rollbacks, and increased child tax credits.

Draw sharp contrasts with Republican proposals that slash social safety nets or reduce corporate regulation.

Why it matters:

January 6th still resonates for many voters, and concerns about political violence, election denialism, and democratic backsliding remain high.

Gen Z and Millennial voters, along with suburban women and college-educated whites, are deeply alarmed by far-right extremism, book bans, and authoritarian rhetoric.

New America Coalition’s Strategy:

Frame Democrats as the guardians of democracy, voting rights, peaceful transition of power, and civil discourse.

Highlight GOP associations with extremists, and back this with clear policies protecting election integrity and democratic norms.

Why it matters:

Since the fall of Roe v. Wade, abortion access has mobilized a multiracial coalition of women, independents, and younger voters across red, blue, and purple states.

Ballot initiatives in Ohio, Kansas, and Kentucky show abortion rights winning even in conservative regions.

New America Coalition’s Strategy:

Nationalize the abortion debate by tying Republicans to criminalization, forced pregnancies, and bans without exceptions.

Position Democrats as defenders of women’s health, bodily autonomy, and privacy rights.
